Swiss Mineral Cosmetics has ventured into the depths of the Matterhorn mountain to extract a fine selection and preparation of active ingredients rich in minerals and trace elements with ancestral and essential skincare properties (silicon, calcium, magnesium, potassium…).
Magnesium is an essential part of the skincare hydration process; good hydration is one of the most important criteria for keeping skin young and soft. As for silicon, it is involved in the production of structural skin proteins such as collagen and elastin which guarantee tone and suppleness.
This subtle and unprecedented blend of extremely fine rock particles, tougher than traditional exfoliants, encourages cell renewal.

Unique to Switzerland and recently discovered by the Swiss Mineral Cosmetics team, Thlaspi sylvium Gaudin grows exclusively in the vicinity of the Matterhorn from June to August in snowbeds (rocky meadows or scree) at an altitude of 1’800-2’500 metres. Despite its hostile natural environment, home to significant weather variations, this Alpine plant, commonly known as “Matterhorn Pennycress”, has successfully adapted to preserve its beauty in all its entirety. This secret is now shared with you in order to care for your skin, as it is a real goldmine in terms of antioxidants, vital ingredients that help the skin to protect itself and slow down cellular ageing.
The discovery of this plant stems from a close partnership between cosmetics professionals, botanists and Swiss flora specialists. Swiss Mineral Cosmetics has moreover obtained authorisation from the Canton of Valais to cultivate it and, after several attempts at propagation, is now growing a crop at an altitude of 2’200 metres on private land in the heights of Zermatt, near the mythical mountain.
